February fields forever

The past months have been very hectic for me, as I finally managed to get a job. Now that I've landed in my role as working woman and new routines, I can start writing again! This month has been all about spring. Outside my window the trees are brown and boring, but inside everything is white, green and copper! A much appreciated change from my side, since I can't stand the cold and dullness january left behind. After many trips to Ikea and various stores around my neighbourhood, I've gotten a few things to generate springosity on my bedroom.

First picture: I got these paper gems at Ikea. They're the small size (30 cm) and are called Visionär. I got the white ball and the dark green gem. I also picked up a gem in grey. They were too good to leave behind. Ikea has them in lot's of different sizes and colours, I highly recommend them for people who want a pop of pretentious colour without really trying.

Second picture: Cacti are very much on trend right now. Despite their lack of flowers, they still bring life and colour in to the room. I got these at Ikea in a pack of three. They are really small and sweet and cost almost nothing! The lamp is a gorgeous copper piece from a store close to my house, but different variaties can be found at most home decor shops. The large bulb is a must for this one, and it looks fantastic when lit. Although not so much on camera... A classic lamp for this years spring trend.

Third picture: The green plant I got at the grocery store. It has a name, but I forgot it... The pot is from a flower shop - also near my house. What I like about it is that it resembles the paper gems and looks very delicate. My ceiling lamp is made of paper and resembles the pot very much, so it goes well with the room. The two copper bowls are really beautiful. They are from Bruka Design and are extremly light and glossy. A perfect warm touch to my very white and cold room.

All that's missing are some tulips! Have you switched up your bedroom style for spring?

September jai alaights

I recently started watching Mad Men and a few weeks ago I saw the episode about Jai Alai. The word  got stuck in my head, so I am now using it in my title. What I was trying to write was highlight, but I could not stand such a boring title. So September Jai Alaights it is! I don't have too many items to show you, since I haven't been introduced to that many new things this month. I am doing some progress on the job front however and soon I can show the blog some new things! Let's get messy.

Pink has been my colour throughout september, despite october's dibs on it. It just complements my skin when I wear bronzer in the most adorable way, I simply can't put it away. I am talking about blush, by the way, Dior Blush in 919 Rose Tahiti Paradise Glow, to be specific. It has one side which is a highlighter and one with a really subtile shimmer, on the verge of being matte. This blush is without a doubt my favourite, all year round! To apply it I've used another favourite. The Mac 169 brush has beautiful white, soft bristles which makes it look even prettier once you've dipped it in your pink blush. It's the perfect size for my chubby cheeks!
My eyes have been primped this month (and every other month) with the Marc Jacobs Lolita Palette. It's the best eyeshadow palette on the planet. It's also really expensive, but if you buy something that costs a lot of money you have to use it every day. You should want to use it every day. You can't just let it sit on your table and be used for special occasions only. You bought it to make every day a special occasion! Enjoy your splurges.

I've been having some problems with mascara the past few months but I finally found one that I like! Too bad I can't buy it in my country... I'm talking about the Soap & Glory Thick & Fast Super Volume Mascara. Bang, bang, out of the way other mascaras!
Speaking of bang, bang. Let's talk about a bomb, Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf was a gift I recieved from my boyfriend on this years birthday of mine. I don't know how he knew that I wanted it, he just smelled his way to the right one. This perfume is sweet, but it's eau de parfum and not toilette, so it's a bit deeper and I can therefore use it during the upcoming winter as well.
Raw Coconut Oil has been my last beauty jai alaight this month. I love to put it on my hands, neck and face as a deep moisturiser or for when I massage my face and neck. The natural scent of coconut is really strong, thus being the reason for it's appeal. I love using one-ingredient products!

Fashion wise I've gone a bit crazy. I have stepped away from my policy of high-waisted jeans only and got myself two pairs of jeans. One pair with a regular waist and one with a low waist. I don't like wearing low-or regular waisted jeans too much because they usually give me an awful muffin top. However these jeans are so soft that they actually don't tug in like that at all! I have never worn such soft jeans, especially the blue ones. Both jeans are from Acne Studios and the blue pair is called Skin 5 Pistol Blu and the black/grey washed ones are called Low Raven. If you have the chance, try the Skin 5 Pistol Blu ones. They come in a bunch of different colours.

Answer me truthfully, is jai alaight a bad word for highight or am I a complete genius?
