Today's Makeup - Day off

Today's Makeup - Nude lips for beginners

Wednesday, September 30, 2015 Unknown 0 Comments

Kylie Jenner seems to have left pretty much everyone speechless with her lips and her excessive lip combo's. I personally think it seems really annoying to have that much product on the lips, as well as the hard work the goes into it. So here I am presenting an option for the people who would like a nude lip, without the Kylie Jenner-effort.

I first apply a coat of Revlon's Colorburst Lip Butter in 095 CrĂ©me BrĂ»lĂ©e. Then I apply Rimmel's Exaggerate lip liner in 063 East End Snob all over the lips. Lastly I mash my lips together to blend the colors and there you have it!

The lip butter gives an illuminated base to the matte lip liner, which makes the lips look plump without being glossy. Perfect for everyday!

Today's makeup - Work

Saturday, September 19, 2015 Unknown 0 Comments

I'm going to work in an hour. Hopefully it won't be too stressful today (I know it will be v v stressful). I thought I would show you a typical, super natural makeup look that I wear during most of my shifts! I am also wearing my super fab poncho. It keeps me warm and covers my bloated belly... Will hopefully be getting a croissant by the end of my shift to keep the ol' uterus happy. Happy period to me!

H&M NEW MAKEUP LINE - EYE COLOUR PALETTE REVIEW

Tuesday, September 08, 2015 Unknown 0 Comments

H&M recently launched their re-vamped beauty collection. With everything from hair products, makeup and nail polish in chic and sleek packaging, how could I not pick something up? I chose one of the Eye Colour Palettes in Super Naturals. The palette have a nice autumnal color range with greens, browns and greys to create the perfect autumn eye! There are a lot of other eye palettes in the collection, many of them are very natural with nice beige and browns. I have so many natural palettes, though. Also I have been on the hunt for a nice cameo palette due to the recent trend reports (the military eyes are a definite go!) Still, it was difficult to walk out with only one, let me tell you...

I gave the palette a go this morning, without primer underneath. There was quite a bit of fall out when I picked up the shades with my flat brush. I tapped of the excess before i put the shades on my eye and that resulted in zero fall out on my face! Fall out is pretty much inevitable when it comes to pressed powders. So far so good! The shades blended well. I only used the white, the greens and the browns to create todays look. I would have loved to see more matte shades in the palette. There are only three mattes! The white, the grey and the black. It would have been perfect if one of the browns were matte as well.
The pigmentation of the shadows are okay. I didn't want a full on look today as I am going to work soon, so I blended in the shadows a lot. However, with primer and good will these shadows would probably be able to pack a good pigment punch.

If you want to try some colors that you haven't tried before, are on a budget but looking for something sleek to put in your makeup bag or follow the latest trend, then pick up this palette! If you already have something similar, pass.

6/10 for putting some greens in to a palette, H&M! Please give us some more mattes next time.

February fields forever

Wednesday, February 18, 2015 Unknown 0 Comments

The past months have been very hectic for me, as I finally managed to get a job. Now that I've landed in my role as working woman and new routines, I can start writing again! This month has been all about spring. Outside my window the trees are brown and boring, but inside everything is white, green and copper! A much appreciated change from my side, since I can't stand the cold and dullness january left behind. After many trips to Ikea and various stores around my neighbourhood, I've gotten a few things to generate springosity on my bedroom.

First picture: I got these paper gems at Ikea. They're the small size (30 cm) and are called Visionär. I got the white ball and the dark green gem. I also picked up a gem in grey. They were too good to leave behind. Ikea has them in lot's of different sizes and colours, I highly recommend them for people who want a pop of pretentious colour without really trying.

Second picture: Cacti are very much on trend right now. Despite their lack of flowers, they still bring life and colour in to the room. I got these at Ikea in a pack of three. They are really small and sweet and cost almost nothing! The lamp is a gorgeous copper piece from a store close to my house, but different variaties can be found at most home decor shops. The large bulb is a must for this one, and it looks fantastic when lit. Although not so much on camera... A classic lamp for this years spring trend.

Third picture: The green plant I got at the grocery store. It has a name, but I forgot it... The pot is from a flower shop - also near my house. What I like about it is that it resembles the paper gems and looks very delicate. My ceiling lamp is made of paper and resembles the pot very much, so it goes well with the room. The two copper bowls are really beautiful. They are from Bruka Design and are extremly light and glossy. A perfect warm touch to my very white and cold room.

All that's missing are some tulips! Have you switched up your bedroom style for spring?
