Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit - Review

These powders give a serious glow and are all beautiful. One small downside is that this palette is more aimed towards lighter skin tones. I'm not saying that people with dark skin tones wouldn't suit these colors, but the majority of the powders (such as the pink highlighter and the very light bronzer) would perhaps not be used the way they're "supposed" to. If you have a deeper complexion, good alternatives could be the pink highlighter to be used as eyeshadow and the bronzer as highlighter!
But do you know what's better? A palette that is catered to ones needs. A full face palette without a proper bronzer - and more, is not a full face palette. Maybe next christmas Hourglass could make two palettes - one for fair skin and one for deep!

This palette is worth the steep price tag if you're like me - you don't already own any of the powders and you're eager to try them out before you know whether or not to get a full size. Hint - totally worth getting the full sizes. I am not bothered by the small amount of product (in comparison to the full sizes) because I have so much make up already. If these were to be my one and only face powders then I would have gotten them separately. My total powder count in my collection is too large for me to justify getting four or more powders. My sister picked this up for me in the states and it turned out a lot cheaper than buying it myself in London.

For my personal use 9/10 - I'll give it a full score next year if they come out with a darker version!

2-year anniversary makeup

Sunday, January 17, 2016 Unknown 0 Comments

On Friday my main bae and I celebrated 2 years of togetherness. My makeup had to be on point, even though we were just going out for some ramen. I wanted an effortless look with just a light touch of color, so I used my trick of lining my upper- inner lash line with blue eyeliner - same color as my eyes- to make them stand out! Some serious eye-gazing was for sure going to be made and I just had to look my best, literally. It was a fun look with a cute winged eyeliner made with black kajal by pulling out the edge with an angled brush. I really should do that more often, it's just so easy! This look is seriously glowy - perfect for dull winter skin (how many times have we heard that phrase?) (spring now, please)!

New year new hair

Thursday, January 14, 2016 Unknown 0 Comments

I decided to get down to business and cut my hair. I let Karolina cut it shorter in the back and longer in the front. Reverse mullet? I think not. I'm very happy with the results. I also colored my hair into a nice chestnut brown dark blonde(?)(it said dark blonde on the box?). It's not as red in real life as it is in the pictures shown above... I was going for a cold brown. However, that seems to be impossible to do at home if your hair is like mine and it really likes having red undertones... I digress. When I look back, I kind of miss my old hair. This always happens after I've gotten my hair cut and have yet to wash it and style it the way I like.
Chop well done!

I start my makeup artist course in Monday! I have been sent a list of things that I need to buy before school starts and I wish there was a Diagon Alley for makeup artists... Hopefully I can buy most of it without a semi giant breaking in to my house! I just don't think Hagrid has what it takes to see the difference between a cool foundation tone and a warm one.
